ARTIST CV

Katie Elizabeth Cuthbert

Love, submission and the ins and outs of being a morbidly obese baby making machine. Vulnerability underlines much of my multi-disciplinary practice from becoming a sombre storyteller on a theatre stage to a love crazed fae with a sweet tooth and a craving for rejection. While experimental, my practice is becoming more in tune with my own passivity and understanding of what it means to be the less than ideal woman.

Through my studies, I have grown and responded with and to a wide range of artists and built valuable relationships. This has allowed me to get involved with LGBT+ specific collectives and converse with artists in my own hometown. These connections have given me valuable volunteering experience and lifelong connections in a town at the dawn of its artistic scene. Moving forward I look to take vulnerability by the horns and respond to what it means to be an empathetic woman in love, how the submissive woman implants herself in society and how one functions in a baby crazy world without the right working parts. Through autobiographically and a wider political perspective my upcoming projects aim to blow a kiss to womanhood and upturn the shame and weakness of the woman in love.
